On 22 September 2021, Herman Verbist participated as a speaker on “Mediation as a Method to Settle International Trade and Investment Disputes” at a webinar on “UNCITRAL Working Group III : Reform or Replace the Investor-State Dispute Settlement System? Potential Alternatives to Arbitration in ISDS” which was organized by the North America Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Very pleased that I could attend the 80th session of UNCITRAL Working Group II (Dispute Settlement) in Vienna in the week of 30 September-4 October 2024 where “Explanatory Notes” to the UNCITRAL Model Clauses on Specialized Express Dispute Resolution (SPEDR) were adopted and where the Working Group started to discuss the topic of the recognition and enforcement of electronic arbitral awards.
