HERMAN VERBIST, ATTENDING THE 79 TH SESSION OF UNCITRAL WORKING GROUP II IN NEW YORK IN THE WEEK OF 12-16 FEBRUARY 2024 AS DELEGATE OF FICA (FORUM FOR INTERNATIONAL CONCILIATION AND ARBITRATION)
Very honoured that I could attend the 79th session of UNCITRAL Working Group II (Dispute Settlement) in New York in the week of 12-16 February 2024 as delegate of FICA (Forum for International Conciliation and Arbitration) and that we were able to participate with the other delegations in the discussion on UNCITRAL clauses for technology-related dispute resolution and adjudication on which the Working Group reached consensus.
Herman Verbist was moderator of a panel discussion on the topic with the following speakers: Dr. Judith Knieper (UNCITRAL, Vienna); Mr. Ales Zalar (Director, PMAC, Ljubljana; Former Minister of Justice of Slovenia); Dr. Norel Rosner (EU Commission, DG Justice and Consumers, Brussels).
Herman Verbist taught from 2 to 5 June 2025 the course “Case Study Investment Mediation”
Herman Verbist attended the 41st Annual Conference of the European Lawyers’ Association from 29 May to 1 June 2025 in Porto and attended the legal conference on the topic of “The Regulation of AI: Technological Innovation in Times of Uncertainty” at the Law Faculty of the University of Porto.
